How to cook Wasabi Ice Cream Recipe


Wasabi Ice Cream Recipe (Makes 1.2L)Ingredients
1 1/2 cups milk
1 1/2 cups cream
2/3 cup caster sugar
8 egg yolks
1 tbsp wasabi paste
green colouring

Method of cooking Wasabi Ice Cream Recipe


Reserve some milk (about 1/2 cup) Pour in the rest of milk with cream in a pan over medium heat. In another bowl, whisk sugar, egg yolks, remaining milk and wasabi paste (Can add more if you want, but, be reasonable ). When the milk and cream has come to the boil, lower the heat and pour in the egg yolks mixture and stir continuously for about 5-10 minutes. When the mixture is right, it should coat the back of the spoon and slightly thick but not curdled. Remove into anoter bowl and add green colouring. Chill in fridge for half day. Then make ice cream according to manufacturer’s instruction or transfer to a shallow metal tray and freeze, whisking every couple of hours until frozen and creamy. Freeze 5 hours or overnight. Soften in fridge for 30 mins before serving.
