Sagittaria latifolia is a plant found in shallow wetlands and is sometimes known as broadleaf arrowhead, duck potato, Indian potato, or wapato. This plant produces edible tubers that were extensively used by the Indigenous peoples of the Americas.

Ingredients for Broadleaf arrowhead recipes

broadleaf arrowhead /Potatoes - 4 Medium sizes
Onion - 1 Medium size (finely chopped)
Peas - 1/4th cup
Green Chillies - 3 (finely chopped)
Little Coriander leaves
Mint leaves
2 tsp Red Chilli powder
Cornflour 1 tbsp.
Salt
Gram flour - 150gm.
Soda a pinch
Water - 1cup
Oil to deep fry

Method of cooking Broadleaf arrowhead recipes:

1. Potatoes boiled, peeled and finely mashed.
2. All ingredients except gram flour, soda and water put into mashed potatoes and mix well.
3. Make balls of even size. Make about 10-12.
4. Make batter with gram flour, soda, salt and water.
5. Heat oil to deep fry.
6. Dip every ball into batter and fry in hot oil on medium and low till crisp and light brown.
7. Drain it on kitchen paper.
8. Serve hot with Green and Tamarind Chutneys or Tomato Sauce.
