1 large yellow onion
3 potatoes, peeled
8 cups chicken broth
2 tbs Olive Oil
6 cloves garlic, peeled and crushed

1 bay leaf
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 hot pepper, seeded
1/3 teaspoon paprika
