How to prepare Recipe for spinach casserole


Ingredients:
• 32 ounces frozen spinach
• 1 package Knorr Cream of Spinach Soup Recipe Mix
• 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of celery soup or 1 cup of seasoned white sauce, link to recipe below
• 1 cup shredded Classic Melts or American or Cheddar cheese
• grating nutmeg, about 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
• ground black pepper, to taste
• 1/4 cup shredded cheese for topping
• 3/4 cup French fried onion rings or buttered bread crumbs

Preparation of Recipe for spinach casserole:


Place frozen spinach, spinach soup mix, and cream of celery soup in crockpot. Cover and cook on low for 3 to 4 hours, or on high for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Stir in 1 cup of shredded cheese, nutmeg and pepper; transfer to buttered 1 1/2 quart casserole dish. Sprinkle top with 1/4 cup shredded cheese and onion rings or crumbs. Place under the broiler for a few minutes, until cheese is melted and top is lightly browned.
Stovetop Cooking Instructions: Place frozen spinach, spinach soup mix and cream of celery soup in a large saucepan or Dutch oven. Cook over low heat until spinach has thawed, stirring occasionally; simmer for about 20 minutes. Stir in shredded cheese, nutmeg and pepper; transfer to buttered 1 1/2 quart casserole dish. Sprinkle top with 1/4 cup shredded cheese and onion rings or crumbs. Place under the broiler for a few minutes, until cheese is melted and top is lightly browned.
